Hello! Boy I have to tell you that updating the site can be tough. I work online and my clients see when I am online from my messenger services. So as soon as I logon I get bombarded with IM’s. I have tried SOOO many times to update in the past month but to no avail.
So if you are sending items in please bear with me…I will get them added as soon as possible!
I have recently added some neat stones from throughout Montana and ones sent in my viewers. I just LOVE it! Keep them coming!!
All the items I have are now added. I will be visiting some other cemeteries soon so please register if you haven’t to receive the site updates.
See you soon!
p.s. Ruth Icenogle: I have tried so many times to email you…your emails bounce back to me. I want to thank you soooo much for the items you have sent. Your knowledge of WOW has really expanded my view of these fabulous people and their beautiful memorials. THANK YOU!

I am sorry I have been away for so long! Even though I haven’t been uploading lately I have been visiting lots of cemeteries so look for lots of new pics over the next couple of weeks!
I did not get to travel much while down south…darn it! But I did get to a few cemeteries that were facinating! I cannot believe the difference between cemeteries in the south and those up here in the north. They are quite different from one another!
I also want everyone to visit www.thecemeteryclub.com. Minda is the owner and she puts out magazines and books regarding cemeteries. I was actually published in her last edition with my stone Baby Girl Katie. And I ordered a bag that says “I Dig Cemeteries”…my family thinks I’m crazy…LOL…

I finally made it to Alabama!
Sorry I haven’t posted for so long for my visit is of another nature that is not cemetery related. I have had a chance to visit some great cemeteries tho! Two in Alabama and one in Georgia. The pics are posted in their appropriate sections.
There are a couple things I have noticed while visiting southern cemeteries. #1 90% of the graves have a cement slab over the top denoting where the coffin is. Kinda strange to me as in the Pacific Northwest we don’t have those. Also many of the tombstones are written on my hand not via machines or script writing but just wet cement writing. This I have NEVER seen before. Very interesting…
I am hoping to make it to several other cemeteries in the upcoming months and will post the photos as I visit.
I put a registration form on the site so if you register I will notify you when new items have been added.
Ok! Thats it for now!

Ok I made to Deer Lodge yesterday and have uploaded my photos. I did try to find a cemetery in Racetrack but to no avail.
The next posting I do will not be until I get to Alabama and to a cemetery. Probably about 2 weeks. If I happen to come upon one in the mean time you bet I will get it online for you!
Oh I do have photos from Texas I need to get on here before I leave as well…no guarantees but I will try!
Cheers

I just uploaded the photos I took yesterday at the Mt. Carmel cemetery in Anaconda, Montana. It is the old cemetery as most deaths were before 1930. My family is from Anaconda so I have been in the cemetery many times and knew my favorites I wanted to show you…there were even some that were hidden by the brush which I hadn’t seen before.
Today I am going to the neighboring town of Deer Lodge to get some photos there…maybe I will hit Racetrack too as that town was thriving at one time, although a ghost town now, so they might have a cool cemetery!
I will post my findings tommorrow!

Hi there! My name is not actually Cemetery Chick…LOL..its Kellee. Nice to meet you!
This is the first blog post for cemeterychick.com.
I have been searching through cemeteries for years but only recently decided to put them online. I live in Montana and will begin my travels this month (Jan 2008). I do have photos from a trip to Texas I took in March 2007 and some from around the state of Montana.
I will be in Alabama from Jan until April 2008. I am VERY excited to roam the cemeteries down there! I will be going to Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, and of course through Alabama. I hope to get up the east coast too but I don’t know as though time and money will allow for that…we’ll see.
Stay tuned!
